The new 14” mill reheat furnace is a walking hearth furnace which allows for more efficient and uniform heating of our billets. This provides a more uniform end product with consistent mechanical properties and improved shape.
We utilize double and slit techniques to improve efficiency on many of our products.
McDonald Steel implemented a comprehensive Lean Manufacturing program in 2010.
McDonald Steel utilizes state of the art roller bearing finishing stands. These stands have roller bearings with hydraulic roll balancing which allows for optimum gauge control and tighter gauge tolerances.
