When strength is needed for large 18-wheel (or larger) trucks, McDonald Steel is used in the manufacture of on-road steel wheel rims.	McDonald Steel shapes are used in couplings (called spigots) for reinforced concrete pipe water and sewage systems.	Heavy agricultural and construction equipment wheel rims provide a significant market for McDonald Steel. We supply profiles for for off-road wheels to companies such as John Deere and Caterpillar.

We supply special shapes for steel grid bridge decking, which is lighter and lasts far longer than reinforced concrete. Currently, we are supplying steel for the Walt Whitman Bridge in Philadelphia.	A major supplier of automotive profile hinges - our steel has been used for Jeep, Chrysler, General Motors, Ford, and Volkswagen.	A lesser known application - this shows that hot rolled steel profiles are used in a variety of applications.
